Victims of the New Math is Thomas Young writing and performing as a one man band (guitars, bass, drums, and vocals). Originally a duo, with Thomas being joined by his brother Joe, the band started writing and recording music as far back as the late 80’s, hoping to capture the great AM rock sounds from their childhood. Influences have grown to include 90’s alternative, the lo-fi rock movement, and modern indie rock. The goal is always to make the best record from 1973…

Victims of the New Math released their first album in 2006. And that could have been it, but Thomas revived the band with the lo-fi Satellite Head album release in 2016. Since then, several VOTNM releases, including 2021’s well received Heading to the Suburbs EP, have resulted in a small but loyal fan base.

The new EP, Groovy Tunes, is a funky, retro-rock treasure with grungy solos, great melodies, and lyrics that pay tribute to the 70's suburbia of my childhood. See the link below to stream the new tracks!
